Dijuta


Post-folklore group “Dijuta” was founded in 2002 in Kaunas (Lithuania).
The group is mainly focused on the popularization of the Lithuanian folk music among the youth by teaching them folk songs, dances, playing on different instruments and performing at musical projects with other groups.
The repertoire includes original Lithuanian folk songs, and also songs adapted to different styles of music.
The group performs at festivals in Lithuania and abroad including Latvia, Belarus, Estonia, Poland, and Ireland. They broadcast at television shows, and participate in competitions. “Dijuta” was awarded at music competitions like “Rudens Muzika” 2005, “Saulele Raudona” 2008, “Austa Ausrele” 2010.
