INO Ensemble is the smallest version of Indonesian National Orchestra (INO). INO was founded in 2010 with the goal of providing a platform for intenational music exchange based on highly diverse indigenous instruments of Indonesia. The musical foundation of INO Ensemble is various forms of rebana (frame drum) music of Betawi culture such as Rebana Biang, Hadroh, Kecimpring and Marawis. However, the various instruments used in INO Ensemble come from different regions of Indonesia such as North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bali, West Java and Jakarta. Each of INO Ensemble players is master of many instruments. Therefore, their music is complex and unique reflecting the diversity of Indonesian cultures. The music presented by INO Ensemble for “Sharq Taronalari” - “Voice of Diversity” is composed for this ensemble by Franki Raden. Yet they are based on various forms indigenous sacred music such as Kendau from Dayak Tribe and Sundanese chanting.
